July 2nd

WE ARE IN..??
MOSES LAKE, WA!!

Heading north on Interstate 5, we stopped for a short visit on the retired Coast Guard Cutter Comanche in Tacoma, WA. The Comanche is now an operational museum owned and maintained by Coast Guard veterans and civilian volunteers from the Comanche 202 Foundation. Joe Peterson (middle person, at the helm) met us at the gangway to welcome us aboard and show us around.

Following the Comanche, we headed into down town Seattle to visit the site of some old recreational haunts. We then visited the town of Ballard on a drive by of the old house (9258 Mary NW) that we "Coast Guard Brothers" lived in 40 years ago. We understand from neighbors, that Amy and Dave live there now. Unfortunately, they were not home at the time, so we hope they won't be too upset that we snapped a picture of us sitting on the old front steps once again. These are the steps that I remember riding my motorcycle up and into the living room on occasions.

Finally, we then headed East on Interstate 90, over the Cascade Mt. range and over to Moses Lake, WA.
